Structure and Governance

SSN is governed by its Executive Board, constituted by its five directors, a treasurer and a company secretary. The board deals with overall matters of governance and policy relating to SSN. This includes complying with UK Company and Charity Law, and reporting annually to Companies House and to the Charity Commission, as well as running SSN in accordance with its memorandum and articles of association and its internal governance procedures. There are  two seats on the executive board for members’ representatives.

The five founding editors of Surveillance and Society were: Kirstie Ball, Stephen Graham, David Lyon, David Murakami Wood and Clive Norris.

The current executive board comprises the following editors of Surveillance and Society: David Murakami Wood, Bryce Newell, Joshua Reeves and Rosamunde Van Brakel.

Dean Wilson is the charity’s treasurer.

The day to day running of the journal is completed by the Network and Editorial Board, where the directors and other executive members work together on journal production. A full list of the Network and Editorial Board Members is available on the journal site or in the contacts.
